French head offices
In France, it’s mandatory for a company to have a head office. Thankfully, you’ve got a lot of freedom in terms of where your head office is; it could be the place where your company does its activity, just like it could be a simple mailbox.
What’s the point of the Head Office?
The head office allows the authorities to determine the nationality of a company. As such, the head office of a company defines what set of laws affect it. That’s not all, however; the head office of a company is also going to appear whenever changes to your company appear in a specialized newspaper, and it determines which jurisdiction the business falls into.
How do you find a head office?
There are 3 ways to find a head office: the company can own the address of the head office; the company can rent it; or you can use domiciliation.
Domiciliation (aka business address or virtual office) itself can mean one of two things: having the head office be the home of the legal representative or using a domiciliation company.

Changing your head office
When you change your head office, you’re going to have to change the company by-laws as well. Furthermore, except in a few situations if your company is an SARL or an SA, you can only choose to change your head office with an Extraordinary Board Meeting.
This makes it all the more important to choose wisely!
