What makes Paris innovative
Making France one of the innovative strongholds of the world is one of the French President Emmanuel Macron’s main goals. So far, it looks like his efforts have been worthwhile, since in 2017, Paris received the title of European Capital of Innovation.
Indeed, France puts quite a bit of emphasis on innovation. Between the two “reinventing Paris” projects, launched in 2015 and 2017, and the station F incubator, it’s easy to see why such an award was granted to this city. However, what really swayed the jury was France’s “inclusive” innovative strategy; since it encourages every person or entrepreneur with an innovative project as best it can.
This award is part of the EU’s Horizon 2020 program, the European program for Research and Development for the 2014-2020 time period. Basically, this is the EU’s attempt to make the region as innovative as possible. As such, overall, it’s unlikely that France will stop innovating any time soon!
