After 13 months of uninterrupted growth, July’s entrepreneurial momentum is losing steam compared to July 2020 (-5.6%). Nevertheless, with 600,000 new registrations, the total number of creations since the beginning of the year is still at a record level compared to the same period in 2020 (+34%).
The drop in new business creation in July mainly concerns the leading sectors of the recovery over the past year, namely wholesale trade, catering and transport and storage. In contrast, education, personal services, and financial activities are strongly growing.
